From the Pastor: Finishing Up, Continuing, and Something on the Horizon

Categories: (Email) Monthly, Kingswood Connection

Wow, what a great year we had at The Kingswood School! It is so amazing to see the great transformation of the children from the first day to the last day. But with the last day of this year, we saw two long-time teachers retire. Michele Wilson and Barb Postich both retired after more than twenty years teaching at the school.  It is hard to fathom the number of the lives they have touched over these years — so many children, so many parents, and so many other teachers. I wish for them only the best in their retirement. Well done, Michele and Barb!

Along with the end of school, we celebrate those children who have “graduated” from the preschool and will be moving on to elementary school in the Fall. This past week, I ran into one of my little friends from carpool, Osborne, who will be moving on. It sure was great to see him, and it was great to get a hug. He made my day! Congratulations to all of our graduates!

Kingswood in the Park is coming back tomorrow, June 2. Last month was our inaugural event, and we had a great time.  Please check out this month’s announcement.

Vacation Bible School is just over the horizon, and there has been a great deal of planning going on by our co-chairs Christina Scherrer and Sara Wynn. They, together with Jessica Spencer, our new Director of Family and Children’s Ministries, and all of the many volunteer leaders in the story room, craft area, recreation team, snack room, and science lab have been hard at work getting ready for a great week. Registration is higher than the past couple of years as we move VBS to the afternoon. Please be in prayer for our Vacation Bible School. While it will be a busy week, we look forward to all of the energy flowing through the halls of Kingswood!

Grace and peace,

Rev. Charles Broome
