Summer is in full swing!
This past week, we have had our share of hot, humid weather, with a daily dose of thunderstorms. You may be trying to fit in a few holes on the greens, an ALTA Tennis league, or catching up on some gardening. Those with children are likely to find them on water, on the field, on the court, at a tournament, at camp, at VBS, over at a friend’s, at grandparents, and all points in between. You have just gotten back from a vacation or you packing for one. If you’re like me, you’ve been run ragged by conflicting, over committed schedules. Does this sound a bit too familiar?
My question for you is, can you find any time in your day to sit down, have a quiet moment to pause, give thanks and reflect? Is there a sacred time in your day that allows you time to pray, read a devotional, or even the Bible? Is there a sacred time in your week which allows you to bask in God’s glory, worship God in singing, praying, hearing God’s Word being read and proclaimed? Is there a sacred moment in your week where you can stop and listen to what God is trying to say to you?
If your busyness has robbed you of such opportunities, then may I suggest you take a vacation from all your hurriedness and come and worship with us this Sunday. You might be surprised at who you will meet and who you will see, who are in the same place as you. Let us all take a vacation from our hurriedness.
In His grace and peace,
Rev. Charles Broome
