“We are family!”
Whether you’re a family of one, or one hundred, when you join with us in our celebration and exploration of the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you are warmly welcomed into the Kingswood family. Among other things, that means enjoying an opportunity to attend the many events we plan each year to meet the spiritual and community needs of our members, our friends and those around us who may be seeking answers to many faith questions. In addition to special worship experiences such as our Advent celebration, Christmas Eve service, and special music throughout the year led by our children’s choirs, we also offer a host of music, drama and cinematic events suitable for families of all sizes and ages.
Vacation Bible School Need a great way to set the stage for a summer filled with fun activities for your kids? Look no further than Kingswood’s annual vacation Bible school! It’s an action-packed, Bible-centered experience each June. Open to all children aged four (by August 31) through rising 5th graders, this five-day morning adventure provides children with ample opportunities for fun, learning and fellowship.
Family Movie Nights Held throughout the year, we have lots of popcorn and lemonade — have the kids bring throw pillows and bean bangs to hang out in front of the big screen!
The Advent celebration occurs every year on the first Sunday in December. We have age-appropriate crafts fit for the whole family and the Youth Ministry offers a wonderful spaghetti dinner. All proceeds go toward the Youth Ministry activities. We also gather during Advent for coffee, dessert and caroling to ring in the season of joy in Christ’s birth. Please join us for this wonderful family time.
Trunk or Treat is the annual Kingswood tribute to traditional trick or treating that takes place in the upper church parking lot on Halloween evening with food, prizes, carnival games. Participants decorate their cars and dress up in costumes — adults and children alike!
Family outings are great opportunities for family fun! Throughout the year, we have group trips to sporting events and other venues throughout the city for families of all ages.
Rally day is an outdoor (weather permitting) celebration in August designed to reunite our church family after a summer of travel and activity and kick off our programming for the year. This super-fun event features food, games, inflatable bounce-houses face painting and other fun activities for the family.
Worship Care provides a safe, loving environment for children (ages 3 – 6) to “be kids” during the worship service. Led by a minimum of two adult volunteers in the church, children are invited to play in the worship care room after the “Where Children Belong” portion of the worship service and children’s message. Play time includes arts and crafts, games and reading.
