GriefShare, a special 14-week seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one, will be held Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm, September 11 – December 18.  It is led by Dondra Davis and Sue Jones,  two caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult days ahead.  We know it hurts, and we want to help.  Please share this information with anyone you think may benefit from this group.  For more information, please contact Dondra Davis.

Trunk or Treat

Join us in the lower parking lot for a fun Trunk or Treat event on October 24. Families may decorate the back of their cars for Halloween, load up on candy to hand out, and enjoy fellowship in the parking lot as kids “trick or treat” from car trunk to car trunk. The children will come dressed in Halloween costumes, and should bring bags for collecting treats. Decorating cars is not required, but it is encouraged! The more cars we have, the more fun for everyone there! We will have games, costume contests for adults, and a car decorating contest. We will serve a simple dinner in the gym before the event from 5:30-6:15 pm. For more information, please contact Jessica Spencer at JSpencer@kingswoodumc.org or (770) 457-1317.

Worship will be at 10:30 with a great meal prepared by Steve Mayer to follow in the Community Life Center Gymnasium.

Evaluation Policy

Mandatory evaluations will be held for all players (except for 5/6 co-ed). Players must be evaluated to ensure that teams are as balanced as possible. Those volunteering to coach are encouraged to attend evaluations for their own assessment of players for their age group in which they are volunteering. Unbiased outside coaches will conduct the evaluations, to ensure fairness and balance.

Practices will be held one night a week and on Saturdays until season begins. Weekday practice nights are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Practices will begin on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Most games will be played on Saturdays (except for 5/6 co-ed games, which are Friday nights). Games will be played in local church gyms within the area. Games will begin on or around first weekend in December and end on or around mid February.

Request Policy

Parents are strongly encouraged to volunteer, as each each team is allowed a head coach and an assistant coach, which will pair their children together. Siblings are guaranteed to be placed on the same team unless otherwise noted. When registering, players will be allowed one request (this is not a guarantee of placement).

Coaching Information, and Mandatory Coaches Meeting

To sign up to coach, please check the appropriate option when registering your child. We will meet November 1 at 7:00 pm in the Community Life Center Gymnasium Lobby for mandatory Safe Sanctuary training and selection of teams. Be sure to designate age group, boys/girls when volunteering for coaching.
