"We are family!"

Whether you’re a family of one, or one hundred, when you join with us in our celebration and exploration of the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you are warmly welcomed into the Kingswood family. Among other things, that means enjoying an opportunity to attend the many events we plan each year to meet the spiritual and community needs of our members, our friends and those around us who may be seeking answers to many faith questions. In addition to Advent celebrations, special Lenten observances and Mother’s Day brunches, we also offer a host of music, drama and cinematic events suitable for families of all sizes and ages. Family Movie Night (FMN) is the monthly free showing of family-friendly movies in the Fellowship Hall. We start out at 6:00 pm with cartoon shorts and move on to the feature film at 6:30 pm. Visit the Family Movie Night web page to see our offering of upcoming movies, and of course, we are always looking for your suggestions. Popcorn and drinks are also served. So bring your bean bag chairs or throw pillows and blankets and come on out!

Worship Care (WC) is the service that families of children ages 3-6 provide to each other (although ALL are welcome to volunteer!). After the Kingswood Kids portion of the 11:00 am service, children of this age are led downstairs to Room 113. There, adults and sometimes youth watch over them as they play for the remainder of the service. The play time includes arts and crafts, games and reading. Outdoor play time is weather-dependent.

Trunk or Treat is the annual Kingswood tribute to traditional trick or treating that takes place in the upper church parking lot on Halloween evening. All participants decorate their cars and dress up in costumes (come on…adults too!). Bring a bag of goodies and drive in at 5:30 pm. You have 30 minutes to get your car decoration set up before Trunk or Treating starts at 6:00pm. Then just wait for the kids to visit your car…and scare ‘em if you must! There are prizes for the Best Car Costume, and Best Adult Costume. New this year are fun carnival games and the arrival of the Kingswood van, all decked out in an outfit! Trunk or Treating ends at 7:00 pm, with plenty to time to trick or treat in your own neighborhood if you like!

Mother's Day Luncheon is an opportunity to celebrate all the moms in the
congregation.  We meet in the gym after church for a lovely meal that
someone besides Mom prepared!

The Advent celebration occurs every year on the first Sunday in December. We have age-appropriate crafts fit for the whole family and the Youth Ministry offers a wonderful spaghetti dinner. All proceeds go toward the Youth Ministry activities. Then we gather for coffee, dessert and caroling to ring in the season of joy in Christ’s birth. Please join us for this wonderful family time.

Gatorade Dream Team is a great opportunity for Kingswood kids and their parents to go to a Hawks game together. We will arrive before the game, stand on the court to watch the warm-up, then sit together to see the game. Kids will receive a jersey.

July 4th weekend is always a great weekend. This year we are planning a group trip to see fireworks at Keswick Park. There will be games and activities for the kids while we wait for “lights out”, so if you are in town, come on out!

Rally Day is an outdoor (weather permitting) celebration designed to reunite our church family after a summer of travel and activity and kick off our programming for the year. This super-fun event features food, games, inflatable "rides", face painting and other fun activities for the family.
