Around the World

Kingswood and its members also support missions around the country and the world, such as:

Hinton Rural Mission: A group from Kingswood goes for one week each summer. This is a great multi-generational opportunity for families as they allow youth and students to serve along with the adults.

The Hinton Center creates opportunities to serve with others in repairing or building homes with local families, and to grow in understanding of faith in action.

Honduras Mission Trip: In partnership with HOI, Inc., teams from Kingswood serve for a week each summer at Rancho el Paraiso. Contact the church office or Anna Belle Pyle for more information.

Stop Hunger Now and World Vision: Annually, we participate in a youth-organized Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. In 2013, our youth and other volunteers packaged 20,234 meals through Stop Hunger Now. Additionally, the youth raised money for World Vision through their participation in a “30-Hour Famine.”

UMCOR: Nationally, our support of UMCOR helped serve people devastated by natural disasters. Our support of the general and annual conference initiatives drought needed relief to areas where unemployment is highest and medical care scarcest.

Other Global Missions: Worldwide, we have recently supported many relief agencies, such as the World Service Fund, Africa University, and the Global Health Initiative. We helped sponsor Chris Grove as a missionary to Mongolia, and indirectly supported missionaries to every continent except Antarctica.
